But being a shareholder and having a voting right doesn't means that you are going to make profits or you will earn money. There are two ways in which you can trade in Equity: Intraday and Delivery

Intraday: You buy stock of a company and sell it on the same day. The profits which you earn are speculative profits.

Delivery: Buy a stock and hold them for more then a day. When a company grows in future the value of the stock grows, it is that growth in price of stock which you earn.
